AFG Film School in a Box — Christian Filmmaking on DVD

.
MEDIA ADVISORY, Nov. 2 /Christian Newswire/ — Videotaped at Patrick Henry College, Advent Film Group’s (AFG) 4-DVD set provides a fresh training approach for those who are interested in learning how to make, market, and distribute full-length feature films.
.
The new DVD covers the same comprehensive course material given during AFG’s two-day live film workshops.
According to AFG founder, George Escobar, “Our mission is to train and raise up the next-generation of Christian filmmakers.
.
This DVD set allows anyone to take a major step in discovering and joining the new ‘Christian Film Movement’ pioneered in recent successful micro-budget films, such as “Come What May,” “Facing The Giants,” and “Fireproof.”
.
Last summer over 110 aspiring filmmakers gathered in Purcellville, Virginia, to learn how they can turn Hollywood right-side-up. Due to demand for more workshops and highly positive reviews, AFG produced the DVD containing over 13 hours of video instructions that includes investor fundraising, digital production, business, retail sales, promotion, and distribution roadshows.
.
“The film workshop exceeded my expectations because I saw people’s lives genuinely touched,” said George Escobar, founder of Advent Film Group. “The primary purpose for these workshops is to turn a filmmaker’s focus away from one’s self and to put it where it belongs – which is to tell stories that reveal God working in people’s lives.”
.
Attendees from Canada to Southern California confirm Escobar’s sentiments, touting the conference’s potential for a revolutionary impact.
.
Henry Jernigan, a Christian speaker and comedian with over ten years of radio, television and advertising experience said that the workshop provided invaluable new insights into the entire filmmaking process. “The workshop showed me the details from start to finish – thinking through to distribution, marketing and your next films before you even begin your first film,” he said.
But more than filmmaking skills, Jernigan emphasized the spiritual lessons he learned. “One of the things I really liked was the constant emphasis on keeping God in our work.”
.
Another workshop attendee, Kylene Arnold, said that the AFG workshop gave her great insight into the future of her filmmaking career. “I’ve been through 4 years of Film School and I had never heard the business side of it,” Arnold said, “That [Escobar] included both the technical and business side of things was very helpful.”
.
The DVD ships late November 2009. Presale discounts are available now for the first 100 DVD sets sold.

HOSFU LC

HOSFU LC is a company dedicated to Promoting Christ Through The Film Industry.

HOSFU is an acronym which stands for:

His Only Son For Us

Our logo is descriptive of our company.

*The royal purple signifies the majesty of Christ

*The pocket watch which makes up the "O" in HOSFU represents the fact that there is limited time before the Christ returns. The hands of the watch are set at 3PM the time in which the Christ gave up His Spirit and changed the positional relationship of the world to God into a savable one.

*The shadow that comes from the pocket watch is a cross as a solemn reminder of the great sacrifice of Christ

*The "U" in HOSFU is catching a tear of God which reminds us that God's heart is grieved for those that do not know Him. However the "U" also catches the tear as a representation of His grace.
