  8. The Raw Talent Screenplay Contest seeks films that are based on biblical principles such as love, grace, forgiveness, redemption, justice, etc. Films entered do not need to be preachy or overtly evangelistic.
  9. Scripts should not contain profanity.
  10. Timeline

  13. Judging: The sponsors will select eight judges and the judges will select one entry as the winner of the contest to receive the Grand Prize.
    a. Although the online community will have input as one of nine “judges,” the eight industry professional judges will make the final decision regarding which script wins the Grand Prize, taking the online community vote into account.
    b. The decision made by the judging panel regarding the Raw Talent Screenplay Contest is final and may not be contested. The decisions of sponsors and judges, including the selection of judges, are final and binding on all matters relating to the contest.
    c. The winning entrant will receive as the Grand Prize the following
    (i) $10,000.00 USD to be awarded at the 2010 Gideon Media Arts Conference & Film Festival Banquet on June 7, 2010;
(ii) round-trip airfare to the 2010 Gideon Media Arts Conference & Film Festival (up to $400.00 USD value); and
(iii) room, board and registration fee for the 2010 Gideon Media Arts Conference & Film Festival (up to $700.00 USD value). All costs and expenses, above $11,100.00 USD or not specified herein, related to the Grand Prize or incurred as result of winning the Grand Prize are solely the responsibility of the winning entrant. The prizes awarded as the Grand Prize are non-transferable and non-assignable, with no cash redemptions or substitutions except at the sponsor’s sole discretion. Sponsors shall not be liable for any delays or disruptions experienced during travel.
  14. As consideration for the Grand Prize, the script selected as the winning entry will become the exclusive property of Trost Moving Pictures and any and all intellectual property rights associated with the script shall be transferred and assigned to Trost Moving Pictures. In other words, the $10,000 Grand Prize is essentially payment in exchange for exclusive rights to the Grand Prize script. The winning entrant(s) will receive sponsor’s Affidavit of Eligibility, Release, and Assignment (“Affidavit”), which must be completed and returned within seven (7) days of receipt. A disqualification will result and an alternative winner will be selected from among all remaining eligible entries if the sponsor’s Affidavit is not properly returned within the specified period of time. Refusal or return of sponsor’s Affidavit as nondeliverable will also result in disqualification and cause as alternative winner to be chosen from among all remaining eligible entries.
  15. Grand Prize winner understands that, at the sole discretion of Trost Moving Pictures, necessary changes to the Grand Prize script will be made. Winner will be consulted regarding script changes, but understands that final decisions will be made by Trost Moving Pictures.
  16. Writer will get a single slate “story by” credit and a single or shared slate “written by” credit if changes are made and if screenplay is made into a film.
  17. Grand Prize winner will make every effort to be available for promotional events related to the Raw Talent Screenplay Contest and subsequent film production, if applicable.
  18. By entering an entry in the contest, all entrants agree to be bound by these rules and regulations, including all entry requirements. Entrants agree to waive any and all claims against the sponsors for any injury, damage, or loss that may occur from participation in the contest or from the receipt or use of any prize or travel related to the receipt or use of any prize.
  19. The winning entrant is fully responsible for any and all applicable federal, state, international and local taxes associated with the Grand Prize.
  20. Employees, staff and faculty of the Gideon Media Arts Conference & Film Festival, LifeWay, HOSFU LC, Trost Moving Pictures and their families are not eligible to enter this contest.
  21. Entering the contest constitutes permission to use the entrants’ names and likenesses for publicity and promotions with no additional compensation. The Gideon, HOSFU LC and Trost Moving Pictures reserve the right to publicize and promote any and all progress, development and success of the entered films.
  22. Multiple entries are accepted, provided that each script is entered separately with all entry requirements stated in Section 1.
  23. HOSFU and Trost Moving Pictures recommend that entrants register their scripts before submitting them. Scripts may be registered with the U.S. Copyright Office, ProtectRite or the WGA. Script registration is not required for entering the Raw Talent Screenplay Contest, but is highly recommended.
  24. If, in the sponsor’s exclusive judgment, this contest becomes compromised in any way, the sponsors reserve the right to cancel the contest, to cancel any method of entry, or to void any entries submitted fraudulently. Sponsors shall have the sole right to disqualify any contestant for violation of these rules and regulations or any applicable laws relating to the contest, and to resolve all disputes in their sole discretion. Sponsors make no warranty, guaranty, or representation of any kind concerning the Grand Prize, and disclaim any implied warranty. THE CONTEST IS SOLELY AND EXCLUSIVELY GOVERNED BY THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA AS APPLICABLE TO CONTRACTS MADE AND PERFORMED WHOLLY THEREIN. ANY ACTION, PROCEEDING, OR LITIGATION RELATED TO THE CONTEST MUST BE INSTITUTED AND PROSECUTED SOLELY AND EXCLUSIVELY WITHIN THE STATE OR FEDERAL COURTS LOCATED IN THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA. In the event of cancellation, sponsors reserve the right to elect to identify a winner of the contest and award the Grand Prize from among all entrants who had entered the contest at the time of cancellation.

  1. Very exciting, looking forward to this! One quick question. What happens to the scripts that don’t win? I assume that we retain those rights.

Thank you for sponsoring this wonderful contest.

    In Christ,
    Paul

HOSFU LC

HOSFU LC is a company dedicated to Promoting Christ Through The Film Industry.

HOSFU is an acronym which stands for:

His Only Son For Us

Our logo is descriptive of our company.

*The royal purple signifies the majesty of Christ

*The pocket watch which makes up the "O" in HOSFU represents the fact that there is limited time before the Christ returns. The hands of the watch are set at 3PM the time in which the Christ gave up His Spirit and changed the positional relationship of the world to God into a savable one.

*The shadow that comes from the pocket watch is a cross as a solemn reminder of the great sacrifice of Christ

*The "U" in HOSFU is catching a tear of God which reminds us that God's heart is grieved for those that do not know Him. However the "U" also catches the tear as a representation of His grace.
